David Alaba is an invaluable asset to any club. The versatile Austrian can play Centre Back as well as Left back and he is equally good in both the positions.
Alaba's contract is expiring in 2021 and Bayern want to keep the player. Bayern is trying everything to keep the player. According to Bild, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Sports Director Hasan Salihamidzic met last Wednesday with the player, his father George and his new agent Pini Zahavi. Zahavi is well known in the circuit as a experienced high profile agent, 28 year old Alaba would want Zahavi to negotiate a grand deal considering this might his last chance. We all know a footballers value is inversely proportional to his age. So he would like to make optimal use of this situation.
Bayern have offered a salary of up to 15 million euros plus bonus. However there are rumours that few of his comparitavely lesser talented teammates are earning more than the amount offered to him. Though a rumour Zahavi and Alaba seems to believe it.
Alaba had a great season with Bundesliga title already under his belt already and eyeing his second trophy this Saturday when Bayern face Leverkusen in DFB- Pokal finals. Alaba has been performing consistently well from past few seasons he will very well know his worth and knows there would be many clubs chasing him.
Chelsea is in search of a Left Back and they would not mind an experienced and versatile player like Alaba.
PSG, Real madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City would not be way behind if the Austrian is available. They all have the capacity to offer a good deal. Bayern Munich has been in pursuit of Manchester city star Leroy Sane from long time and the deal was finalised yesterday. Manchester city wanted to take advantage of this situation and involve Alaba as a part of Sané deal. Bayern did not agree and Sané adamant to go to Bayern, City had no option. City would now be ready to release few million Euros out of the money received in Sané deal back to Bayern to get Alaba.
Alaba has spent 12 years in Bayern Munich, he joined the club as a teenager. In his 10 years in top flight football with Bayern, Alaba has won all the trophies he could possibly win with the German club. Now he might want to look for new challenges. He is said to be interested to go to Spain and play with either Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich would like to complete the contract talks as soon as possible, or secure a big money deal to any of the interested clubs. Bayern would definitely not want Alaba to leave as a free agent next year.
