Chelsea has conceded more goals than any of the top 10 sides this season. We can't blame the goalkeeper alone for that, Chelsea has had many defensive lapses from their defenders. Also the world's most expensive keeper has not proved his worth yet in two seasons he has been with the club. If we look at the stats then Kepa has been very disappointing.
Three goals conceded, in what was a poor team display, away to Sheffield United, has, once again, seen questions asked about the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Now whether the criticism is 100% deserved is debatable especially when you consider how poor the Chelsea defence was.
Çakır is one of the most highly rated goalkeeper outside of Europe's top leagues and has been capped twice by his country.
The 24-year-old was linked to Liverpool in January, while he has also been linked with Tottenham and Leicester in the past.
Now, it appears that Chelsea have become the latest Premier League side to enter the fray. According to Turkish outlet Haber 365, the Blues have agreed a deal with the talented shot shopper in the region of €33m (£29.5m).
Çakır is not the only keeper that the Blues have been linked with in recent times. Ajax stopper Andre Onana and Bournemouth's Aaron Ramsdale have both mentioned as options, while tentative links to Dean Henderson have also been doing the rounds.
Chelsea are believed to be in the market for a replacement for number one stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga as the Spaniard continues to struggle for form between the sticks. Chelsea's second choice goal keeper Caballero is already 38 years, nearing end of his career.
Valencia, Sevilla and more have been tipped as potential landing spots for the Spaniard, with a two-year loan move to the former having even been touted.
Cakir has only kept four clean sheets in 39 outings for Trabzonspor this term, conceding 46 times in the process, including 11 goals in seven Europa League appearances.
Cakir stats are not outstanding, however he has been tipped as someone with great potential. He is valued around £9m. If the reports are true that Chelsea has offered £30m, then there is no reason for Trabzonspor to decline the deal. We are still waiting for official confirmation from both sides.
We can only hope that this deal doesn't go down the Kepa way.
