Kai Havertz - Is he worth 80 million

Kai Havertz- in past few months we have been hearing this name everyday if you are an avid football fan. If rumours are to be believed Chelsea have placed their first bid of £80m for the youngster.

Let's look into the statistics a bit, to know more about the player.
Havertz had the record of club's youngest ever Bundesliga debutant at the age of 17 years and 126 days, although his record was broken by 111 days by his fellow teammate Florian wirtz in 2020. Havertz became the youngest ever Leverkusen player to score in bundesliga, the record was again broken Florian wirtz in 2020.

He has been playing in Bundesliga for 4 years and yet he is just 21 year old younger than Chelsea's Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Tomori (they are considered Chelsea
youngsters). Moreover he was awarded May month Bundesliga player of the month.
Havertz has been described as technically-gifted, two-footed midfielder who has already drawn comparisons with Michael Ballack & Toni Kroos. Havertz already has 41 league goals and 21 assists in over the period of 4 years.

Now let's have a look at few statistics from this season. Havertz has successful pass percentage of  85.6 which is better than KDB who is considered as one of the best midfielder of this era.

Havertz has an average of 2 key passes per game compared to 1.5 of mason mount or 0.8 of Jorginho. Here KDB is much ahead of Havertz, KDB averages 3.5 passes key passes per game.
However Havertz is ahead of everyone with regards to dribbles per game. Havertz averages 2 compared to 1.5 of KDB.

Comparing a 21 year old to a premier League veteran in itself is a big thing. There no doubts in Kai Havertz potential but it would be interesting to see how he settles in premier League if Chelsea successfully bids for him.

If Chelsea could spend 75 million on Kepa then Havertz is definitely going to be a bargain.
